Engaged Buddhism: From Inner Transformation to Compassion in Action
“We will develop
and cultivate the liberation of mind by loving kindness towards all beings.” Buddha
“Hearing the bell, I am able to let go of all afflictions. My heart is calm, my sorrows ended. I am no longer bound
to anything. I learn to listen to my suffering and the suffering of the other person. When understanding is born in me, compassion is also born.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
Mindfulness retreat in Chandolin / Switzerland July 23-30 2016
Vision and intension
Based on the Mindfulness Practice of Plum Village, we will explore Skillful Means to learn the Art of Transformation
in one self and in the world:
· Transforming confusion into Wisdom
suffering into Compassion in Action
Engaged Buddhism can be applied on all levels of our life, personal, family, organization, nation and planet. We will explore how we can embody our values and highest aspirations in personal
and work life alike, based on the notion of Right Livelihood.
We want not only to share teachings, but also to have a living experience of an harmonious community lifestyle aligned with the principles that we will practice.
Nature experiences in the wonderful Swiss Alps will be a nourishing source of energy and healing as we undergo this deep process.
Body/mind practices such as Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Walking Meditation, will contribute to a holistic experience.
We will offer a discount price for young participants to foster the intergenerational dialogue that will be an important part of the process.
The retreat will be bilingual French and English
